RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

According to the RRB Group D Notification 2026 PDF, a candidate writing the exam must belong to the following nationalities:

A candidate must be either:

(a) a citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

(f) Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) above, shall be a person, in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Go to any of the zonal RRB websites that you wish to apply for.
Select the Railway to which you wish to apply. Please be aware that, Railway once selected cannot be changed after the preliminary registration is completed and the Registration number is allotted.
Confirm that you have read and understood the instructions clearly by clicking the check box. Click on the “New Registration”
Complete your registration.
Then fill up details like Name, Date of Birth, Aadhar Card Status, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Class 10th Details, Mobile no., Email ID, and click on the ’Continue’ button.
After filling up the details, preview your RRB Group D apply online 2026 form
Uploading of Photo & Signature: Upload your photograph in the dimensions specified.
Submit your RRB Group D application form and pay your application fee.

Candidate Categories

For all candidates except the fee concession categories

Rs.500

Out of this fee of Rs 500, an amount of Rs 400 shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in 1st Stage CBT

For PwBD / Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class (EBC).

(Caution to Candidates: EBC should not be confused with OBC or EWS)

RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 - Selection Process

As per the RRB Group D Notification 2026 PDF, the selection process is based on

(i) Computer Based Test

(ii) Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

(iii) Document Verification

(iv) Medical Examination.

RRB Group D Physical Efficiency Test:

Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates shall be called for the Physical Efficiency Test. Candidates will be called for PET Three times the community-wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs/RRCs. Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature

Male candidates:

(i) Should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and

(ii) Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.

Female candidates:

(i) Should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and

(ii) Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.

The RRB Group D Pay Scale - The basic salary of RRB Group D Selected candidates will get in Level 1 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix of 18000/- per month.
