Participating Banks

Eligibility Criteria

IBPS sets three basic eligibility criteria for its candidates i.e. Nationality, Age Limit, and Educational Qualification. The candidate who fulfills all three will be considered eligible to apply for the PO posts.

Nationality

Candidates who possess the following nationalities can apply for the IBPS PO recruitment 2025.

 (i) a Citizen of India or

 (ii) a subject of Nepal or

(iii) a subject of Bhutan or

(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or 

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit

As per the IBPS PO Notification 2025 PDF, the basic age limit for Probationary Officers is

• Minimum: 20 years

• Maximum: 30 years

However, the candidates who belong to the reserved category will be eligible to seek relaxation in the upper age limit as mentioned in the IBPS PO Notification 2025 PDF:

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification for IBPS PO is,

• The candidate is required to clear a bachelor's degree from a recognized University or college in any stream.

• The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

Credit History

As per the IBPS PO notification 2025 pdf,

• The candidate applying shall ensure that, they maintain a healthy Credit history at the time of joining of participating banks. The minimum credit score will be as per the policy of Participating Banks, amended from time to time.
• Those candidates whose CIBIL status has not been updated before the date of joining, have to either get the CIBIL status updated or produce the NOCs from lender to the effect that there is no outstanding with respect to the accounts adversely reflected in the CIBIL, failing which the letter of offer may be withdrawn / cancelled. The final discretion in this regard remains with the allotted Bank.

NOTE: Candidates with no bank account shall not be required to produce the CIBIL status. CIBIL Score requirement is not a pre-condition to apply.

IBPS PO Recruitment 2025 - Selection Process

As per the IBPS PO Notification 2025 PDF, the Selection Process comprises three levels

• Preliminary Exam
• Mains exam
• Interview.

The final selection weightage (ratio) of the Mains & Interview is 80:20 respectively.

Prelims Exam Pattern
