The 2026 CBT was moved from its first planned window of February–April 2026, so treat the 2027 dates as tentative until the notice is out. The 2026 application window (1–31 December 2025) is closed. The next chance to apply will be the SSC GD 2027 notification, through the same ssc.gov.in portal. SSC GD Eligibility Criteria 2026

SSC GD Age Limit 2026

For 2026, candidates had to be born between 2 January 2003 and 1 January 2008 (18–23 years as on 1 January 2026). Reserved categories get extra years.

SSC GD Educational Qualification 2026

You need to have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognised board by the cut-off date in the notice. NCC certificate holders get bonus marks: 5% of the total marks for the C certificate, 3% for B and 2% for A.

SSC GD Selection Process 2026

Selection happens in four stages, and you must clear each one to move to the next.

1. Computer-Based Examination (CBT): 80 questions, 160 marks.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST): qualifying only.

SSC GD Exam Pattern 2026

You get 60 minutes, and each question carries 2 marks. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer, and no deduction for questions you leave blank.
