The SSC exam calendar had listed it for 30 June 2026, but the date was pushed back, and the notice is now expected in October–November 2026 on ssc.gov.in. SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

You must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) or an equivalent exam from a recognised board by the closing date of the application. Higher qualifications are allowed.

SSC MTS Age Limit

The age limit depends on the post. In 2025, age was counted as on 1 August 2025; the 2026 cut-off date will be in the notification.

Reserved categories get extra years on the upper age limit.

Nationality

You must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or belong to the other categories listed in the notification. Non-citizens need a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.

SSC MTS Selection Process 2026

SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2026

The CBT has two compulsory sessions on the same day. Session I is only qualifying, and the merit list is made from Session II marks. So General Awareness and English decide your rank, while maths and reasoning only need to clear the minimum.

Since merit depends on Session II, give most of your time to English and General Awareness, and keep maths and reasoning at a safe qualifying level.
