State Bank of India invites applications to recruit eligible applicants for the post of Probationary Officer in SBI. The selection of the applicants for the SBI PO is done in three phases that include the Prelims exam, Mains exams, and Interview (or Interview & Group Exercise) rounds. SBI PO - Nationality

Applications are invited from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment as Probationary Officers (POs) in State Bank of India. The selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India.

SBI PO - Age Limit

The candidate’s age must be not below 21 years and not above 30 years.

Candidates must possess a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification.
Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination.
Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure the date of passing the IDDas per the notification. Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant would also be eligible.

SBI PO Maximum Number of Permissible Chances

Candidates who have already appeared for the maximum number of permissible chances are not eligible to apply.

The number of chances will be counted from the examination held on 18.04.2010.
Appearing in the Preliminary Examination will not be counted as a chance.
Appearing in Main Examination will be counted as a chance.
In the years in which only one written examination has been held (i.e. no Preliminary Examination has been held), appearing in this examination will be counted as a chance.

SBI PO - Selection Process

The SBI PO selection process 2024 is given below:

Psychometric Test: Group Exercise (20 marks), Interview (30 marks)

In this SBI PO, candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. The marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in Phase-III for preparing the final merit list. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection.

The Bank may conduct Psychometric test for personality profiling, of those candidates who will be shortlisted for Phase-III. Finding of the test may be placed before the Interview panel for having a through perspective on the candidates. Marks secured by the candidates in the Phase-II (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 marks and Phase-III scores of candidates (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25 marks. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating (out of 100) converted marks of Phase-II and Phase-III. Selection will be made from the top merit-ranked candidates in each category.
