This recruitment scheme was mainly formulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as per the MOU signed between MHA and SSC. On April 2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) included an additional 13 regional languages in SSC GD exam in addition to English/Hindi from January 01, 2024, onwards in the SSC GD exam 2024. The historic decision was made by the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah to empower the participation of local youths in CAPFs and encourage regional languages.
