The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the SSC JE Notification 2026 on 2 September 2026, and on 7 October it published the official vacancy list: 1,699 Junior Engineer and Scientific Assistant posts in 12 departments, down from 1,748 in the notification. The application window closed on 22 September, and SSC JE Paper 1 will be held from 2 to 6 November 2026, with Paper 2 expected in December.

SSC JE Application Form 2026 (Closed)
The SSC JE application form 2026 was available on ssc.gov.in from 2 to 22 September 2026, and the fee could be paid until 23 September. Corrections were allowed from 28 to 30 September. Candidates who applied should keep their registration number and password ready for the admit card.

SSC JE Nationality
Candidates must be citizens of India, subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1 January 1962, or persons of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries to settle in India, with a certificate of eligibility where required.
SSC JE Selection Process 2026
The SSC JE selection process 2026 has three stages. Paper 1 is only qualifying, the final merit is based on Paper 2 marks alone, and document verification follows.

SSC JE Admit Card 2026
The SSC JE admit card 2026 for Paper 1 will be released on ssc.gov.in a few days before the exam, which starts on 2 November. SSC usually releases the exam city slip about a week to ten days earlier. Candidates log in with their registration number and password to download it.
SSC JE Cut Off 2026
The SSC JE cut off 2026 for Paper 1 will be released category-wise and branch-wise with the result. Candidates must also clear the minimum qualifying marks (UR 30%, OBC/EWS 25%, others 20%) to reach Paper 2.
