RRB NTPC Notification 2026 Out: 5,236 Posts, Apply Online, Vacancy, Eligibility

RRB has released both RRB NTPC 2026 notifications for 5,236 posts: 3,548 Graduate posts under CEN 06/2026 and 1,688 Undergraduate posts under CEN 07/2026. Graduate applications are open on rrbapply.gov.in until 6 November 2026, and the Undergraduate window, which opened on 15 October after the detailed notice of 14 October, closes on 13 November 2026. Graduate CBT 1 is tentatively expected from the fourth week of December 2026, so candidates have about two months to prepare after applying.

RRB NTPC Notification 2026 Out

RRB issued the short notice on 21 September 2026, the detailed Graduate notice on 7 October and the detailed Undergraduate notice on 14 October. The detailed Graduate notice raised vacancies from 3,477 to 3,548, with Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor going up from 56 to 127. Goods Train Manager has the most seats (2,750), and Station Master has no vacancies this time. For the first time, neither level has a typing skill test.

RRB NTPC Exam Date 2026

RRB has not published an exam schedule yet. Reports put Graduate CBT 1 from the fourth week of December 2026, with exact dates to be notified separately. The Undergraduate CBT 1 date has not been indicated. Once dates are fixed, the city intimation slip comes about 10 days and the RRB NTPC admit card about 4 days before each shift.

The RRB NTPC Graduate notification is out for 3,548 posts. Candidates with a completed bachelor's degree can apply until 6 November 2026; those awaiting their final result cannot apply.

RRB NTPC Undergraduate Notification 2026 (CEN 07/2026)

The RRB NTPC Undergraduate notification (CEN 07/2026) was released on 14 October 2026 for 1,688 posts. Class 12 pass candidates can apply from 15 October to 13 November 2026. Unlike the 2025 cycle, there is no typing skill test for Junior Clerk cum Typist and Accounts Clerk cum Typist.

The RRB NTPC vacancy 2026 is 5,236 posts: 3,548 Graduate and 1,688 Undergraduate. Goods Train Manager alone has 2,750 seats, which is 78% of all Graduate vacancies. The category-wise and RRB-wise break-up is on the RRB NTPC vacancy page.

RRB NTPC Graduate Vacancy 2026

Three of the four Graduate posts are at Level 5; only Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor is at Level 6.

RRB NTPC Undergraduate Vacancy 2026

Commercial cum Ticket Clerk is the largest UG post. All UG vacancies are provisional, as RRB notes in CEN 07/2026.

Category-wise, the 1,688 UG posts split as UR 686, OBC 414, SC 258, ST 167 and EWS 163.

RRB NTPC Graduate Zone Wise Vacancy 2026

South East Central Railway (SECR) has the most Graduate vacancies at 504, followed by East Central Railway (445) and Northeast Frontier Railway (395), as per Annexure B of CEN 06/2026.

Southern Railway (241), Eastern Railway (221) and Northern Railway (145) have the most Undergraduate posts. The category-wise split for each railway, as per CEN 07/2026, is:

Since you apply to one RRB, the RRB-wise total matters more than the railway total. For UG, RRB Kolkata has the most posts (329), followed by Chennai (168), Prayagraj (149) and Mumbai (140); Muzaffarpur has just 7.

RRB NTPC Vacancy Trends (Year Wise)

RRB NTPC vacancies have fallen in every cycle, from 35,281 in 2019 to 5,236 in 2026-27, a drop of about 85%.

RRB NTPC Apply Online 2026

The apply online link is active on rrbapply.gov.in for both levels: Graduate until 6 November and Undergraduate until 13 November 2026. You can apply to only one RRB per CEN; more than one application leads to rejection of all and debarment. A graduate can apply for both CENs if within the age limit of each, but must pay the fee separately.

How to Apply Online for RRB NTPC 2026?

1. Go to rrbapply.gov.in.
2. Click "Create an Account", or log in with the account made for earlier RRB CENs of 2024, 2025 or 2026. Mobile number and email ID cannot be changed later.
3. Authenticate your identity through Aadhaar or DigiLocker.
4. Select CEN 06/2026 (Graduate) or CEN 07/2026 (Undergraduate) and choose one RRB.
5. Fill in personal and educational details, exam language, and post and zone preferences.
6. Capture a live photograph through the webcam or phone camera.
7. Upload your signature (JPG, 30–49 KB) and, for a free railway pass, your SC/ST certificate (PDF).
8. Validate your Aadhaar-seeded bank account for the fee refund.
9. Submit and pay the fee online (by 8 November for Graduate, 15 November for UG).
10. Download and print the confirmation page.

Aadhaar Verification

RRB advises Aadhaar or DigiLocker authentication while creating the account, or later through "Verify Aadhaar" before final submission. Candidates who use another photo ID face stricter checks at every stage, and the fee refund goes only to an Aadhaar-seeded bank account. The date of birth must match the Class 10 certificate.

RRB NTPC Application Fee 2026

The fee is the same for both levels and is mostly refunded once you appear in CBT 1.

The fee is paid online only, through net banking, card or UPI. EBC means annual family income below ₹50,000, backed by an EBC certificate, BPL card or Izzat MST; it gives only a fee concession and is not the same as OBC or EWS.

RRB NTPC Age Relaxation

Upper age relaxation is given to these groups, on production of the required certificate at document verification:

Relaxations are not cumulative, and SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates applying against UR vacancies get no age relaxation.

RRB NTPC Educational Qualification

The qualification must be complete when you apply; there is no subject restriction at either level.

Neither CEN has a typing test this year, but typing proficiency on computer is expected after joining for the typist posts and can affect confirmation or promotion. Candidates awaiting their final result are not eligible.

RRB NTPC Nationality

Candidates must be citizens of India. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, and persons of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, specified East African countries or Vietnam to settle in India, can also apply with a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India, shown at document verification.

RRB NTPC Selection Process 2026

Both levels now have the same four stages. CEN 06/2026 has no CBAT because Station Master is not notified, and neither CEN has a typing skill test.

CBT 1 only shortlists; merit for document verification is based on normalised CBT 2 marks. Equal marks are decided by age (older first) and then by given name in A–Z order.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 2026

Both CBTs are objective, 90-minute tests (120 minutes for PwBD candidates eligible for a scribe), with 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer. Questions come in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

RRB NTPC CBT 1 Exam Pattern

CBT 1 is the same paper for all posts at a level and is used only for shortlisting.

RRB NTPC CBT 2 Exam Pattern

CBT 2 is longer, with 20 more questions in the same 90 minutes, and decides the final merit.

RRB NTPC Normalisation

CBT 1 and CBT 2 run in many shifts, so RRB converts raw marks into normalised marks using the percentile method. Shortlisting and merit use normalised scores, which is why a candidate in a tougher shift is not at a disadvantage.

RRB NTPC Minimum Qualifying Marks

These minimums apply in each CBT. PwBD candidates can get a 2-mark relaxation if there are not enough of them for reserved posts.

RRB NTPC Medical Standards

Each post has a fixed medical standard, and a candidate who fails it is not offered another post.

RRB NTPC Syllabus 2026

RRB NTPC Salary 2026

Basic pay starts at ₹19,900 for Level 2 Undergraduate posts and goes up to ₹35,400 for Level 6 Graduate posts, plus DA (currently 60%), HRA, transport allowance and other railway allowances.

RRB NTPC Graduate vs Undergraduate: What's the Difference?

The two levels differ mainly in qualification, posts and pay; the exam pattern and selection stages are the same.

Graduates can apply for both levels if they meet the age limit for each.

RRB NTPC 2025 Cycle Status

The previous cycle is still running alongside the new one. Graduate CEN 06/2025 held CBT 2 on 10 July 2026 and declared its result on 27 August 2026, with the aptitude and typing tests (CBAT/CBTST) for shortlisted candidates following. RRB NTPC Regional Websites

Applications are filled on rrbapply.gov.in, but admit cards, results and notices are also posted on the 21 regional RRB websites.

RRB NTPC Admit Card 2026

The admit card will be released on the regional RRB websites about four days before CBT 1, and the exam city slip about ten days before. With Graduate CBT 1 expected from late December, the city slip could come in mid-December. Candidates log in with their registration number and date of birth or password.

RRB NTPC Cut Off 2026

The cut off is released RRB-wise, post-wise and category-wise after each CBT, and depends on vacancies, candidates and shift difficulty after normalisation. With only 5,236 posts, the lowest in four cycles, the cut off is likely to stay high, especially in RRBs with few seats such as Muzaffarpur and Ahmedabad for UG.

RRB NTPC Result 2026

The result is published as a PDF of shortlisted roll numbers on the regional RRB websites, usually after the final answer key, and score cards are released separately. For CEN 06 and 07/2026, the first result will be the CBT 1 shortlist for CBT 2.
