Antyodaya Diwas 2022: The Antyodaya Diwas was observed on every year of 25 th September in India. This day is celebrated on September 25 to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. He was a communist, journalist, economist, philosopher, and political activist. He was a key ideologue of BJP. The word Antyodaya means uplifting the poorest of the poor or rise of the last person. This day is observed to uplift those from weakest society. He was one of the greatest leaders of the Bhartiya Janata Party. He was the active leader of the Bhartiya Janata Party from 1953 to 1968. - Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was born on 25th September 1916 in Mathura.
- In 2014, Indian Prime Minister Modi assigned this day as a national holiday in order to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
- He died in the year of 1968 near Mughalsarai Junction railway station. Later the Railway station was renamed as “Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction” by the UP government in 2018.
- In 2014, on this day the Ministry of Rural Development relaunched its existing skill development programme - Aajeevika Skills - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM). They renamed this programme as Deendayal.
