SEBI Grade A Phase 2 Last Minute Preparation Tips: Exam Pattern

Before knowing the phase 2 last-minute preparation the candidates must be well familiar with the exam pattern of the Phase 2 exam. The SEBI Grade A Phase 2 exam consists of two streams namely paper 1 and paper 2. To get qualified for the next stage of the selection process ie interview the candidates must score the minimum marks in the phase 2 exam.

  • Paper-1 will be descriptive and the duration will be 60 minutes (1 hour)
  • Paper-2 will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions, the duration of each section is 40 minutes. 
  • There will be a negative marking of 1/4th of marks assigned to the question for Paper 2 in Phase II (except the IT stream for which details shall be informed in due course).
  • There will be a cut-off of a minimum of 30% for Paper 1 and a cut-off of a minimum of 40% for Paper 2 in Phase II.
  • The Aggregate Cut-off to be scored is 50%.

SEBI Grade A Phase 2 Last Minute Preparation Tips:

Revise through the syllabus, exam pattern, cut-offs

Candidates should go through the syllabus, important topics, important questions, exam patterns, cut-off marks, and other important exam guidelines to avoid any mistakes. The total duration of the examination is (Paper 1 – 60 Minutes and Paper 2 – 40 Minutes) 100 minutes. All papers except tests of English Language will be provided in English and Hindi.

 

Penalty for Wrong Answer; Avoid Guesswork

For every wrong answer marked by you, 1/4 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty. All the questions in paper 2 will have multiple choices. Out of the five answers to a question, only one will be the correct answer.

 

Do not take up new topics; Solve mock test papers, previous years’ question papers, quizzes

Candidates are not advised to take up new topics a day before the exam. They should strengthen what they have prepared so far. Revisit your bookmarks, important topics, work on your strong areas. Read all subjects in paper 2 and revise the syllabus of paper 2 which is difficult to score easily.

Keep your Essentials Ready 

Candidates are required to bring the call letter with your photograph affixed thereon, currently valid Photo identity proof in original, and a photocopy of the same ID proof which you bring in original. This call letter along with a photocopy of photo identity proof duly stapled together is to be submitted at the end of the exam by putting it in the designated drop-box. 

 

SEBI Grade A Phase 2 Last-Minute Preparation: Before The Exam

  • The aspirants do not practice or study too much the night before or on the day of the exam.
  • Keep your mind fresh and active to help you stay focused.
  • Ensure you get a good night’s sleep (at least 8 hours) before your exam. Lack of adequate sleep can render the mind significantly slow especially when speed is the key during the exam
  • Eat healthy foods and stay hydrated to avoid health issues.
  • Candidates have to gather the necessary documents like Admit Card, Identity card and its photocopies, Passport Size Photographs, Stationery items, etc.
  • Reach the exam hall before 30 minutes to avoid the last-minute rush.

  • Calm Mind: Keep your mind calm and be relaxed then only you can recall the preparations during the examination without any confusion.
  • Question Selection: Question selection is the very important one. Some questions are seemed to be tricky ones. So read the questions very carefully before attempting.
  • Time Management: Do not spend more time on a single question, take the right decision and try to move on to the next question.
  • Speed & Accuracy: Speed and accuracy are the most important ones to qualify for the examination.  So make sure to increase the solving speed and maintain the accuracy till the last minute.
  • Avoid the Assumption: 0.25 negative mark is applicable for every wrong answer. So keep it in the mind and avoid guessing answers.
  • Time partitioning: Sectional cut-off is applicable for both sections. Candidates have to score the minimum cut-off fixed by the board. So give importance to the time partitioning and attempt the maximum number of questions.
