List of Time Distance Speed Formula For Bank Exams

The list of Time Distance Speed Formula for Bank Exams is available in the list given below and also available in the Time Distance Speed PDF. The Time and Distance Formula for Bank Exams is frequently used in various question types, including motion in a straight line, motion in a circle, boats, streams, races, trains, clocks, etc. Candidates can check the different formulas in the Time Distance Speed Formula for Bank Exams list which is mentioned in this Time Distance Speed Formula for Bank Exams article. By exploiting this Time Distance Speed Formula PDF you will get to know how to calculate Time Distance Speed with the Time Distance Speed Formula in competitive exams.

  • Speed = Distance/Time
  • Time =Distance/Speed
  • Distance = (Speed × Time)
  • Average Speed= Total Distance / Total Time
  • 1 km/hr = 5/18 m/sec
  • 1 m/sec = 18/5 km/hr
  •  If the ratio of the speeds of A and B is a: b, then the ratio of the times taken by them to cover the same distance is 1/a: 1/b =b: a.
  • Suppose a man covers a certain distance at x km/hr and an equal distance at y km/hr. Then, the average speed during the whole journey is (2xy /x+y) km/hr
  • If two people A and B set out from two points P and Q at the same time and cross paths after spending T1 and T2 hours getting to P and Q, respectively, then (A’s speed) / (B’s speed) equals √(T2 / T1)

All these Time Distance Speed Formulas are very important in solving the Time Distance Speed Problems. Candidates can utilize this Time Distance Speed Formula PDF for Bank Exams which is attached in this Time Distance Speed Formula for Bank Exams article.

What is Average Speed Formula?

The Average Speed Formula for the Time Distance Speed Formula for Bank Exams is provided here. The average speed formula is used to calculate the average speed of a train, car, boat, etc. Aspirants can check here what is average speed formula in this Time Distance Speed Formula PDF for Bank Exams post or download the Time Distance Speed Formula PDF for Bank Exams.

Average Speed = (Total distance traveled) / (Total time taken)

  • If the distance is constant: Average speed = 2xy/x+y.

Where x and y are the two speeds at which the same distance has been covered.

  • If the time taken is constant: Average speed = (x + y)/2.

Where x and y are the two speeds at which we traveled for the same time.

Time Distance Speed Formula For Trains

Time Distance Speed Formula for Trains is added here. The Time Speed Distance Formula is effectuated by the problem on trains. The candidates can check the Time Distance Speed Formula for Trains in the Time Distance Speed Formula for Bank Exams article.

  • When the Speeds of the two trains are S1 and S2 respectively and lengths are L1 and L2, then,

Time Distance Speed Formula For Trains

Direction

Relative Speed

Time Taken

If trains are moving in the opposite direction

S1+S2

[(L1 + L2)/( S1+S2)]

If trains are moving in the same direction

S1-S2

[(L1 + L2)/ (S1- S2)

  • If two trains of lengths L1 and L2 cross each other at the speeds of S1 and S2, respectively, in time t, the equation is given as S1+S2 = (L1+L2)/t
  • If a train of length L1 passing another train of length L2 passes another train of length L2 at a speed formula is defined as S1 = (L1+L2)/t
  • If a train of length L1 passing another train of length L2 passes another train of length L2 at a speed formula is expressed as S1 = (L1+L2)/t
  •  If the train passes an electric pole then,

                    1) Length of the Train= Train’s speed × Time

                    2) Time = Length of the Train/speed

                    3) Speed = Length of the Train / Time

Time distance speed conversions

The Time Distance Speed conversions are added in this Time Distance Speed Formula for the Bank Exams article. Candidates who possess bank exams preparation must know the Time Distance Speed conversions in the Time Distance Speed Formula for Bank Exams post to crack the quantitative aptitude section of the bank exams. Aspirants can also download the Time Distance Speed Formula PDF for Bank Exams for their future reference.

  • 1 kilometer= 1000 meters = 0.6214 mile
  • 1 mile= 1.609 kilometer
  • 1 hour= 60 minutes= 60*60 seconds= 3600 seconds
  • 1 mile = 1760 yards
  • 1 yard = 3 feet
  • 1 mile = 5280 feet
  • 1 km/hour = 5 / 18 m / sec
  • 1 m / sec = 18 / 5 km / hour = 3.6 km / hour
  • 1 km/hr = 5/8 miles/hour
  • 1 yard = 3 feet
  • 1 mph = (1 x 1760) / (1 x 3600) = 22/45 yards/sec
  • 1 mph = (1 x 5280) / (1 x 3600) = 22/15 ft/sec

Examples of Time Distance Speed Formula for Bank Exams

Some examples of Time Distance Speed Formula for Bank Exams are provided here. The aspirants can use these examples of Time Distance Speed Formula for Bank Exams to know how to calculate Time Distance Speed in their practice session.

Example 1: If he runs at a speed of 30 km/hr, how much time does Arun take to cover a distance of 600 meters?

Solution: Arun’s Speed = 30 km/hr =  [ 30 × (5/18)]m/sec

                                            = 25/3 m/sec

Time taken to cover 600m = 600 ÷ 25/3 = 600× 3/25 = 72 sec = 1. 2 min

Example 2: Two trains, 100 m and 80 m in length are running in opposite directions. The first train runs at the rate of 10 m/s and the second train at the rate of 15 m/s. How long will they take to cross each other?

Solution: Here Length of the first train = 100 m

Length of second train = 80 m

And the Speed of the first train = 10 m/s

Speed of second train = 15 m/s

Relative speed = 10 + 15 = 25 m/s

(since trains are running in opposite directions)

As per the formula

= = 7.2 seconds
