APJ Abdul Kalam History:

The APJ Abdul Kalam full name is Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam and APJ Abdul kalam birthday is on October 15. He was born on October 15, 1931, Rameswaram. After graduating from the Madras Institute of Technology with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Kalam joined the Defence Research and Development Organization in 1958. (DRDO). He relocated to the Indian Space Research Organization in 1969, where he served as project director on the SLV-III, the nation's first satellite launch vehicle that was both designed and made there. After rejoining DRDO in 1982, Kalam oversaw the development of several successful missiles, earning the moniker "Missile Man." One of these accomplishments was Agni, India's first intermediate-range ballistic missile, which was launched in 1989 and featured elements of the SLV-III. 

Kalam served as the defence minister's scientific adviser from 1992 to 1997. From 1999 to 2001, he was the government's principal scientific adviser and held the position of cabinet minister. Despite the fact that the tests raised significant concerns in the international community, Kalam's important role in the nation's 1998 nuclear weapons testing cemented India as a nuclear power and made him a national hero. Kalam proposed the Technology Vision 2020 national strategy in 1998, which he characterised as a roadmap for moving India from a less developed to a developed society in 20 years.

In July 2002, Kalam was sworn in as India's 11th president, a mostly ceremonial position, after winning the election with ease. He departed office at the conclusion of his term in 2007, and Pratibha Patil, the nation's first female president, took over. When he returned to civilian life, Kalam remained dedicated to using science and technology to make India a developed nation and worked as a lecturer at numerous universities.

Dr Kalam was felicitated with the Padma Bhushan in 1990 while he received Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour, in 1997. He authored several books including his famous autobiography Wings of Fire and Ignited Minds.

While giving a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong in 2015, Dr. Kalam passed away. APJ Abdul Kalam Death date is 27th July, 2015. At the event, the former president experienced a heart arrest, collapsed, and later passed away,at the age of 83. He was rushed to the nearby Bethany Hospital in a critical condition; upon arrival, he lacked a pulse or any other signs of life. Despite being placed in the intensive care unit, Kalam was confirmed dead of a sudden cardiac arrest. His last words, to his aide Srijan Pal Singh, were reportedly: "Funny guy! Are you doing well?". His funeral ceremony was attended by thousands, including national-level dignitaries, in his hometown of Rameswaram where he was buried with full State Honours.
