This day was declared by The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation or UNESCO on 26th October 1966. This day is observed in order to create awareness about literacy. Literacy and Education both are very important for humans to create and survive in a sustainable society. Though progress made in literacy, illiteracy around the world is still in count. After the Pandemic, most people stopped their education. The world literacy day celebration lies in the heart of the regional, country, and local levels. We need to enhance the readers and learners. We have to improve the existing learning sources through the integrated approach and enable literacy learning in the position of lifelong learning. At the world level,  a two-day hybrid international event will be organized on 8 and 9 september 2022. This year's admirable programs and literacy practices will be announced at the 2022 UNESCO International Literacy Prizes award ceremony.
