First Prime Minister of India
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was an Indian National Congress party member and a fighter for the country's independence. He was the MP for Phulpur. On August 15, 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru was appointed as India's first prime minister. He was chosen by Lord Mountbatten, and with fifteen other ministers, he established the First Nehru Ministry. During his first tenure, he held office from 15 August 1947 to 15 April 1952.
First Women Prime Minister of India
Indira Gandhi served as India's first female prime minister of the list of prime mnisters. Before being assassinated, she served as prime minister of India for a total of four terms, including three terms in a row (1980–1984) and one term from 1980–1984.
