First Prime Minister of India

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was an Indian National Congress party member and a fighter for the country's independence. He was the MP for Phulpur. On August 15, 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru was appointed as India's first prime minister. He was chosen by Lord Mountbatten, and with fifteen other ministers, he established the First Nehru Ministry. During his first tenure, he held office from 15 August 1947 to 15 April 1952.

First Women Prime Minister of India

Indira Gandhi served as India's first female prime minister. Before being assassinated, she served as prime minister of India for a total of four terms, including three terms in a row (1980–1984) and one term from 1980–1984.

Article 74
There will be a Council of Ministers, led by the Prime Minister, to assist and advise the President, who will follow their recommendations when performing his duties.

Article 75

Three things are mentioned.

(i) The President appoints other ministers on the PM's advice and chooses the prime minister.

(ii) The Lok Sabha holds the Council of Ministers jointly responsible.

(iii) The President appoints ministers to their positions.

Article 78

The Prime Minister shall have the responsibility to

(a) to relay to the President any decisions made by the Council of Ministers regarding the management of Union affairs and legislative proposals;

(b) to provide any information regarding the management of Union affairs and legislative initiatives that the President may request; and

(c) if the President so requests, to submit any item on which a Minister has made a decision but which has not been discussed by the Council of Ministers for consideration.
