SSC MTS Document Verification 2026: Documents Required
Nov 05 2026
SSC MTS Document Verification 2026 is the last check before you join a central government office as Multi-Tasking Staff or Havaldar. In recent cycles, the Staff Selection Commission declares the final result and allocates candidates to departments. The allocated department then conducts document verification (DV) and the joining formalities. This guide covers the DV date and status, the step-by-step process, the full documents checklist, category-wise certificates, rejection reasons and what happens after DV.
SSC MTS Document Verification 2026
DV for the current cycle, the MTS and Havaldar Examination 2025, will start only after SSC declares the final result, which was still awaited in late October 2026. The computer-based exam was held from 4 to 20 February 2026. The Havaldar PET/PST was held from 24 to 31 August 2026.

Note on the 2026 cycle: The SSC calendar listed the MTS 2026 notification for June 2026, but it had not been issued as of October 2026. DV for the 2026 exam will therefore take place in 2027 or later.
SSC MTS Document Verification Date and Schedule
There is no single all-India SSC MTS DV date. Each allocated department sets its own DV schedule after the final result and informs candidates by letter, email, SMS or its own website.
For the previous cycle, SSC declared the MTS 2024 final result on 12 March 2025. Departments then called selected candidates for DV in the following weeks and months. If the MTS 2025 cycle follows the same pattern, expect DV schedules within a few months of the final result.

SSC MTS Document Verification Process 2026
The DV process checks every claim you made in your online application against original certificates. It follows these steps:
- Final result and allocation. SSC publishes the final result and the department each selected candidate is allocated to.
- Dossier sent to the department. SSC forwards your application details (dossier) to the allocated department.
- DV call letter. The department sends you the DV date, time, venue and list of documents.
- Report on the DV day. Carry all originals, two sets of self-attested photocopies, passport-size photos and a valid photo ID.
- Verification of originals. Officials check your 10th certificate, date of birth, category, PwBD, ESM, NOC and any age relaxation claim.
- Attestation forms and undertakings. You fill in attestation forms for police and character verification, and sign declarations.
- Medical examination. Selected candidates are sent for a medical fitness examination.
- Offer of appointment. If documents, character verification and medical are clear, the department issues the appointment letter.
SSC MTS Documents Required for Verification
Every candidate needs the Class 10 certificate, date of birth proof and photo ID. Category, PwBD, ESM, age relaxation and NOC documents are needed only if you claimed them in your application. Certificates must be issued on or before the cut-off date in the notice, usually the closing date of the online application (24 July 2025 for the MTS 2025 cycle).
Class 10th Marksheet and Certificate
The essential qualification for MTS and Havaldar is Matriculation (Class 10) from a recognised board. Carry the original Class 10 marksheet and passing certificate. If your board issues a provisional certificate, carry it along with the final one if available. If you passed an equivalent qualification, carry the order or letter declaring it equivalent, with its number and date.
Date of Birth Proof
SSC accepts the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary certificate or an equivalent certificate. No other document, such as a birth certificate or affidavit, is accepted as DOB proof. The date on your 10th certificate must match the date in your application.
Photo ID Proof
Carry the original of the photo ID you mentioned in your application. Accepted IDs include Aadhaar card, voter ID, PAN card, passport, driving licence, and employer ID for government employees. If your name has changed after Class 10, carry the gazette notification or other legal proof of the change.
Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC Candidates
SC and ST candidates need a caste certificate from a competent authority in the prescribed central government format. OBC candidates need an OBC certificate in the central government format, plus proof that they do not fall in the creamy layer (non-creamy layer status). The OBC caste must be in the central list of OBCs; a state-list-only caste is not accepted for central posts.
EWS Certificate
EWS candidates need an Income and Asset Certificate in the format prescribed by the Government of India. It must be valid for the financial year mentioned in the notice and issued by a competent authority (such as a Tehsildar or higher revenue officer).
PwBD Certificate
Candidates with benchmark disability (40% or more) need a disability certificate issued under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, in the prescribed format. Candidates claiming scribe facility should also carry the relevant certificate used at the exam.
Ex-Servicemen Certificate
Ex-servicemen need their discharge certificate or pension payment order. Serving personnel due to retire within one year of the closing date need a certificate from the competent authority stating the expected date of release, plus an undertaking.
Age Relaxation Certificate
Any candidate who claimed age relaxation must prove it, for example with a caste, PwBD or ESM certificate, or a certificate for government service, widow/divorcee status, or other category listed in the notice.
No Objection Certificate (NOC)
Candidates already working in a central or state government office, PSU or autonomous body need an NOC from their employer. Without it, you may not be relieved to join the new post.
SSC MTS Document Verification for MTS Posts
For MTS posts, there is no physical test, so DV comes straight after the final result. Selection is based on Session II marks of the CBE (Session I is qualifying), category, the state/UT you chose and the department preferences you gave.
- SSC allocates you to a ministry, department or office in the state/UT region you applied for.
- That office conducts DV, usually at its own premises, and may call you by post, email or SMS.
- MTS posts have two age groups: 18 to 25 years and 18 to 27 years (as on 1 August 2025 for the 2025 cycle). Your DOB is checked against the age group of the post you are allocated.
- After DV, the office completes the medical examination, police verification and issue of the offer of appointment.
SSC Havaldar Document Verification Process
Havaldar candidates in CBIC and CBN pass one extra stage before DV: the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST), conducted by CBIC. For the 2025 cycle, PET/PST was held from 24 to 31 August 2026.

SSC MTS Document Verification Rules and Guidelines
The main rule is that every document must support exactly what you declared in your application, and be valid as on the cut-off date.
- Attend on the given date. Candidates who miss DV without valid reason may lose their candidature.
- Originals are compulsory. Photocopies alone are not accepted.
- Cut-off dates apply. Category and other certificates must be issued on or before the closing date of the application, unless the notice allows otherwise.
- Prescribed formats only. OBC, EWS, SC/ST and PwBD certificates must be in the central government formats given in the notice.
- No change of category. You cannot change the category claimed in your application at the DV stage.
- Candidature is provisional. Selection stays provisional until all documents, character and medical checks are cleared.
- False information means cancellation. Fake documents or wrong claims lead to cancellation and can lead to debarment from SSC exams.
- Six-month rule. If your allocated department does not contact you within six months of the final result, contact the department yourself.
Common Reasons for Document Verification Rejection
Most DV rejections come from a mismatch between the application and the documents, or a certificate in the wrong format or with the wrong date.

What Happens After SSC MTS Document Verification?
After DV, the department completes the medical examination and character verification, and then issues the offer of appointment.
- Medical examination at a government hospital or medical board named by the department.
- Police and character verification using the attestation forms you filled in at DV.
- Offer of appointment with the joining date, place of posting and pay details.
- Joining. You report to the office, submit joining documents and start your probation period.
SSC MTS final selection process: CBE (Session I qualifying, Session II for merit) → PET/PST for Havaldar → final result and department allocation by SSC → DV, medical and character verification by the department → appointment.
SSC does not prepare a reserve or waiting list. Vacancies left by candidates who do not join are carried forward by departments to later years. Any discrepancy in your selection or allocation must be reported to SSC within one month of the final result.
SSC MTS Document Verification 2026 FAQs
- When will SSC MTS Document Verification 2026 be conducted?
DV for the MTS and Havaldar Examination 2025 will start after SSC declares the final result, which was awaited as of late October 2026. Each allocated department sets its own DV date. DV for the MTS 2026 exam will happen later, as that notification had not been released by October 2026.
- Who is eligible to appear for SSC MTS document verification?
Candidates whose names appear in SSC's final result and who are allocated to a department. For Havaldar, candidates must also qualify the PET/PST conducted by CBIC.
- Which documents are required for SSC MTS document verification?
The Class 10 marksheet and certificate, a valid photo ID, the application printout and passport-size photos are needed by all. Caste, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwBD, ex-servicemen, age relaxation and NOC certificates are needed if you claimed them. Carry originals plus two sets of self-attested photocopies.
- Is the original Class 10th marksheet required for SSC MTS DV?

No specific ID is mandatory, but you need a valid original photo ID. Aadhaar is the most commonly used and is accepted. Others such as voter ID, PAN, passport or driving licence also work. Carry the same ID you gave in your application, and check your DV call letter for any department-specific requirement.
- Is a caste certificate required during SSC MTS DV?
Only if you applied under SC, ST or OBC. The certificate must be in the central government format and issued on or before the cut-off date; OBC candidates also need non-creamy-layer status. UR candidates do not need one.
