• India will host the first International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) Summit on 1–2 June 2026 in New Delhi.

• The Union Cabinet, led by Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, has proposed granting Vande Mataram legal protection equivalent to the National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana, through amendments to the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act.

• India and the European Union (EU) have launched a ₹169 crore joint initiative to strengthen Electric Vehicle (EV) battery recycling capacity.

• The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has launched the JANANI (Journey of Antenatal, Natal and Neonatal Integrated Care) platform to strengthen maternal and child healthcare services in India.

• Fairfax India Holdings Corporation, led by billionaire investor Prem Watsa, plans to increase its stake in IIFL Capital Services to at least 51% through a ₹2,000 crore capital infusion.
