Key Changes in SBI PO 2026 Notification

Here are the key changes in SBI PO 2026 notification pdf:

• Descriptive Paper Marks reduced to 30 (Last year it was 50 marks)
• Mains Total Marks reduced to 230 (Last year it was 250 marks)
• Annual CTC at the initial scale of at Mumbai Centre is raised to Rs.21.97 Lakh (Last Year it was Rs.20.43 lakh)
• Maximum permissible attempts for General / EWS candidates raised to 6 (Last year it was 4 attempts)
• Maximum permissible attempts for General (PwBD) / EWS (PwBD) / OBC / OBC (PwBD) candidates raised to 9 (Last year it was 7 attempts).

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality - Applicants should be Indian Citizens.

Educational Qualification (as on 30-9-2026) - Candidates must possess a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.

Age Limit (as on 1-4-2026) - The candidate’s age must be not below 21 years and not above 30 years.

Maximum Number of Permissible Chances

Candidates who have already appeared for the maximum number of permissible chances are not eligible to apply.

• Appearing in the Preliminary Examination will not be counted as a chance.

• Appearing in the Main Examination will be counted as a chance.

• In the years in which only one written examination has been held (i.e. no Preliminary Examination has been held), appearing in this examination will be counted as a chance.

The application fee payment can be made by using debit card/ credit card/ Internet Banking / UPI by providing information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the candidates.

SBI PO Recruitment 2026 - Selection Process

The selection stages for SBI PO Recruitment 2026 will have three phases namely,

1. Prelims (Phase I)

2. Mains (Phase II)

3. Phase III comprises the Psychometric Test, Group Exercise (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks).

The Bank may conduct a Psychometric test for personality profiling of those candidates who will be shortlisted for Phase-III.

• The test findings may be placed before the Interview panel to have a thorough perspective on the candidates.

• Marks secured by the candidates in Phase II (out of 230 marks) are converted to 75 marks and Phase-III scores of candidates (out of 50 marks) are converted to 25 marks.

• The final merit list arrived after aggregating (out of 100) converted marks of Phases II and III

Preliminary Exam Pattern (Phase I)

The SBI PO prelims exam consists of three sections.

•  For each question for which the candidate has given a wrong answer, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.

• There will be no sectional cut-off in the preliminary examination.

Mains Exam Pattern (Phase II)

SBI PO mains consists of Objective tests for 200 marks and a Descriptive test for 30 marks.

• There will be a deduction of 1/4th of the marks assigned to the question for every wrong answer in the main exam.
• NOTE - Sectional cutoff is applicable for the mains exam.
