- The 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup will be jointly hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands from 15–30 August 2026, marking the first time both men’s and women’s tournaments will be held together in a dual-host format.

- India finished as the top nation at the 24th Asian Archery Championships 2025 held in Dhaka, winning a record 10 medals: 6 Gold, 3 Silver, and 1 Bronze (India’s best-ever performance at the event).
- The 2025 MotoGP season ended on a dramatic note as Marco Bezzecchi won the Valencia Grand Prix, becoming the first Aprilia rider to win back- to-back races.
- Ravindra Jadeja has become only the fourth cricketer in Test history to complete the double of 4000+ runs and 300+ wickets, joining Kapil Dev, Ian Botham, and Daniel Vettori.

- Dick Cheney, former United States (US) Vice President, died at age 84 due to pneumonia and cardiac complications.
- Padma Shri awardee Saalumarada Thimmakka, renowned as the “Tree Woman of India”, passed away at the age of 114 in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
- Arunachalam Vellayan, Chairman Emeritus of Coromandel International Limited, passed away at age 72 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
