- India will begin Phase 1 of Census 2027 from 1 April 2026, marking the first fully digital Census in the country’s history
- The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code Amendment Bill 2026 was passed by the Lok Sabha to strengthen India’s financial system by improving the speed and efficiency of insolvency resolution processes and enhancing creditor confidence
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Museum at Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra in Koba, Gandhinagar during his visit to Gujarat

- Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), announced the formation of a dedicated task force to address challenges arising from disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz due to the West Asia conflict.
- The 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) was held under the Brazil Presidency from 23 to 29 March 2026 in Campo Grande, Brazil.
- Min Aung Hlaing, former Commander-in-Chief of the Tatmadaw (Myanmar Armed Forces), was elected as the 11th President of Myanmar by the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (Assembly of the Union).

- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a monetary penalty of ₹95.40 lakh on Union Bank of India for regulatory non-compliance.
- The Government of India is actively promoting financial inclusion for farmers through expanded access to the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme and its digital issuance across States and Union Territories.
- The JanSamarth Portal was launched by Narendra Modi on 6 June 2022 with the objective of expanding the reach of Government-sponsored schemes and streamlining credit delivery processes.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has unveiled its ‘Payments Vision 2028’, titled ‘Shaping India’s Payment Frontier’, aimed at strengthening and expanding India’s rapidly growing digital payments ecosystem.
- The Government of India has decided to keep interest rates unchanged for small savings schemes for the June quarter.

- Ashwini Bhide, an IAS officer of 1995 batch, has been appointed as the new Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai by the Maharashtra Government.
- Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM has assumed charge as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS).
- Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID).

- INS Sanshodhak (Yard 3028), the last Survey Vessel (Large) ship, was delivered to the Indian Navy at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), Kolkata.
- The Indian Navy (IN) conducted the 3rd edition of the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) Maritime Exercise (IMEX) Tabletop Exercise (TTX) 2026 at the Maritime Warfare Centre, Southern Naval Command (SNC), Kochi, Kerala.
- The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has achieved 100% utilisation of its capital outlay of ₹1.86 lakh crore for Defence Services in FY 2025–26 (at Revised Estimates stage).
- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has appointed Vir Vikram Yadav (1996-batch IAS, Odisha cadre) as the Director General (DG) of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA).
- The Ministry of Defence (MoD) signed a capital acquisition contract worth ₹1,950 crore with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the procurement of two Mountain Radar systems for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

- Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) has delivered the first batch of 2,000 NEGEV 7.62×51 Light Machine Guns (LMGs) to India through its joint venture PLR Systems.
