  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron are set to jointly inaugurate Bharat Innovates 2026 at the Palais des Expositions in Nice, France.
  • The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) launched India’s first AI-based WhatsApp tool “Oilseeds Kisaan Mitra” to provide timely, research-based advisory services to oilseed farmers in multiple languages.

  • The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) has reconstituted the Expert Committee on Agrobiodiversity under Section 13(1) of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 for a period of one year.
  • India achieved a historic milestone as Shri Vivek Aggarwal was elected and appointed as the Vice-President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approved the extension of Keki Mistry’s tenure as Interim Part-Time Chairman of HDFC Bank Limited for an additional three months, valid until 18 September 2026.

  • INS Sharda departed from Colombo, Sri Lanka on 13 June 2026 after completing a successful port call, further strengthening maritime cooperation and friendship between India and Sri Lanka.
  • Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) under the Ministry of Defence (MoD) successfully conducted three consecutive flight-tests of India’s Integrated Multi-Layered Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) System on 10–11 June 2026.
  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that Mission Sudarshan Chakra, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Independence Day Address on 15 August 2025, will become a multi-level missile defence system of modern India.
  • The Ministry of Defence (MoD) approved the creation of two new independent National Cadet Corps (NCC) State Directorates in Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand, increasing the total number of NCC State Directorates from 17 to 19.
  • Operation DRISHTI is a major healthcare outreach and humanitarian initiative undertaken by the Indian Army and Indian Air Force (IAF) to provide advanced eye care services.

  • The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the proposed combination involving the acquisition of PGIM India Asset Management Private. Limited. and PGIM India Trustees Pvt. Ltd. by TVS Emerald Ltd. and TVS Venu Management and Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd.
  • The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the subscription of equity shareholding in Axis Finance Limited by Kedaara Pearl Holding and Kedaara Capital Fund IV AIF.

  • Padma Shri Jaspal Rana, renowned Indian shooting coach, former Asian Games gold medallist, and one of India’s most successful pistol shooters, passed away at the age of 49 in New Delhi.
  • David Hockney, one of the most celebrated British contemporary artists, passed away on 11 June 2026 at his home in London at the age of 88.
