- NITI Aayog released a draft clean energy blueprint to transform Andhra Pradesh into a major renewable energy hub by 2035.
- Central Government, Nagaland Government, and Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organization (ENPO) signed a tripartite agreement to create the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA).
- Delhi Police launched a city-wide crackdown named ‘Operation Shastra’ to curb the misuse of social media platforms for intimidation and fear-mongering.
- The Self-Reliance in Pulses Mission was launched at the Food Legumes Research Centre (FLRP), Amlaha, with the goal of making India self-reliant in pulses production.
- The Ministry of Mines (MoM) notified the Offshore Areas Mineral (Prevention of Illegal Mining and Transportation) Rules, 2026, which came into immediate effect to regulate and prevent illegal mining, storage, transportation, and export of all offshore minerals except hydrocarbons.

- New York City,United States of America (USA) joined the World Health Organization (WHO)’s Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN), strengthening global public health cooperation.
- Union Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), visited the United States of America (USA) from February 2–4, 2026 to participate in the Critical Minerals Ministerial Meeting in Washington D.C.
- India and the United States of America (USA) agreed on a framework for an Interim Trade Agreement (ITA), marking a major step towards a full USA-India Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA).
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Malaysia on a two-day official trip from February 7–8, 2026, at the invitation of Malaysian PM Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
- India and Bhutan reviewed and reaffirmed their long-standing partnership in the power sector, focusing on hydropower, cross-border transmission, and future energy cooperation.
- External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar highlighted the risks of excessive concentration of critical minerals and stressed the need to de-risk global supply chains through structured international cooperation.

- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI)announced a compensation framework for victims of small-value digital frauds, offering relief of up to ₹25,000 per customer.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced plans to double the limit for collateral-free loans for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh, effective April 1, 2026, to boost credit access for the micro, small, and medium sector.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has removed the ₹2.5 lakh crore investment limit for Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) under the Voluntary Retention Route (VRR).
- The Government of India (GoI) paid USD 35.18 million to the United Nations (UN) Regular Budget for 2026.
- The Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC), with the approval of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has issued guidelines for implementing a Risk-Based Premium (RBP) framework for deposit insurance.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released draft rules for derivatives on credit indices and total return swaps (TRS) linked to corporate bonds.

- Indian Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL) has appointed Rohit Rishi as its new Managing Director for a three-year tenure.
- The International Olympic Committee (IOC) elected Soraya Aghaei Hajiagha as its 107th member with 95 votes during the 145th IOC Session held in Milan, Italy, on 4 February 2026.
- Thanya Nathan C. is set to become Kerala’s first visually challenged woman judge, marking a historic milestone in the State’s judicial history.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approved the appointment of R. Vijay Anandh as the new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of City Union Bank (CUB).
- Former Indian cricketer and Arjuna Awardee Shikhar Dhawan was appointed as the Brand Ambassador of the inaugural Delhi Khel Mahakumbh by the Government of Delhi.

- The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) released its annual Top 10 Countries and Regions for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification for 2025, covering countries outside the United States.
- India improved its global rank by four positions, securing 45th place in the Network Readiness Index (NRI) 2025 among 127 economies.
- The Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Index 2025–26 has been released by the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security in partnership with the Peace Research Institute Oslo.
- The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2025 has been released by Transparency International, evaluating 182 countries based on perceived levels of public sector corruption.
- According to the UBS Billionaire Ambitions Report, global billionaire wealth reached a record $15.8 trillion in 2025, showing a 13% increase within one year.

- Apogee Aerospace Private Limited, an air defence company, placed an order worth ₹3,500 crore for 15 amphibian aircraft (seaplanes) with Amphibian Aerospace Industries (AAI), Australia.
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Research Park (IITMRP), in partnership with Unicorn India Ventures (UIV), launched the ‘IITM-Unicorn Frontier Fund I’, a venture capital fund worth ₹600 crore to support deep-technology startups in India.
- India successfully test-fired the Agni-III intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha, on 6 February 2026.
- The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has identified Mons Mouton-4 (MM-4) near the Moon’s south pole as the prospective landing site for Chandrayaan-4, India’s first lunar sample-return mission.
- Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced the first national call for the BIRAC–RDI Fund, under the ₹1 lakh crore Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) initiative of the Government of India.

- Power Finance Corporation (PFC) has approved an in-principle merger with REC Limited, in line with the Union Budget 2026 proposal to restructure public sector NBFCs.
- ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company, along with group entities of ICICI Bank, received Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approval to acquire up to 9.95% paid-up share capital or voting rights in select banks.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approved American private equity firm Blackstone to acquire up to 99% stake in Federal Bank Limited, a private sector bank in India.
- The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) approved two composite schemes of arrangement for merger and amalgamation of 17 wholly-owned subsidiaries of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL / POWERGRID).
- The Government of India will sell up to 5% stake in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) through an Offer for Sale (OFS).

- Government of Gujarat signed a Letter of Intent with Starlink Satellite Communications, a subsidiary of SpaceX, in Gandhinagar.
- Airports Authority of India (AAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Taxi to improve last-mile connectivity at select airports.
- The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) signed a Common Empanelment Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the General Insurance Council in New Delhi.
- The Department of Posts (DoP), also known as India Post under the Ministry of Communications, signed a three-year renewable Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE).
- The Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science and Technology signed an agreement with M/s Prantae Solutions Private Limited, Odisha for financial assistance.

- India and Greece signed a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) in New Delhi to strengthen bilateral defence industrial cooperation.
- The Indian Army created a new world record during its Silver Jubilee Everest Expedition 2025, recognized by Guinness World Records.
- The Indian Army and IDFC FIRST Bank signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) valid till February 2029 to provide specialised banking services and enhanced insurance benefits to serving and retired Army personnel.
- The 4th Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC) meeting between India and Tanzania was held in Zanzibar from 02–03 February 2026.
- The Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) are conducting a joint in-situ air exercise to enhance operational coordination and interoperability between the two air forces.
- The Indian Navy has assumed command of Combined Task Force (CTF) 154, a multinational training task force under the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), reflecting India’s growing role in maritime security and capacity building in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) and beyond.
- The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, approved Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for various proposals of the Services valued at about ₹3.60 lakh crore on 12 February 2026.
- The Ministry of Defence (MoD) signed a contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Transport Aircraft Division, Kanpur, for the acquisition of eight Dornier 228 aircraft along with Operational Role Equipment for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) at a cost of ₹2,312 crore under the Buy (Indian) category.
- Agneevasthraa, a domestic manufacturer of carbon fabrics and advanced composite materials, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army (IA) to supply materials for defence applications.
