UPSSSC PET Salary 2026: In-Hand Salary, Pay Scale, Post-Wise Salary
Oct 28 2026
UPSSSC PET has no salary of its own, because it is an eligibility test, not a job. The salary comes from the post you are selected for later through a UPSSSC recruitment, such as Lekhpal, VDO or Junior Assistant. These posts start at a basic pay of ₹19,900 to ₹29,200, which works out to an in-hand salary of about ₹28,600 to ₹42,000 per month before HRA at the current 60% DA. PET 2026 is being held on 25 October, 30 October and 1 November 2026, and a valid score opens these recruitments for three years.

UPSSSC PET Salary Structure and Pay Scale

₹29,200–₹92,300 |
Basic Salary, Gross Salary and Deductions
Basic pay is the fixed amount for the pay level. DA is a percentage of basic pay, HRA depends on the posting city, and gross salary is the total of all three plus other allowances. The main deduction is NPS at 10% of basic pay plus DA. The worked example below uses a Level 3 post such as Lekhpal or VDO.

At these pay levels, most employees pay no income tax under the new tax regime. After joining, the monthly salary slip from the UP online payroll system shows each of these components.
UPSSSC PET Salary After 5 Years and 10 Years
Salary grows through annual increments of about 3%, DA revisions twice a year and promotions. The table shows basic pay for a Level 3 employee such as a Lekhpal, assuming yearly increments and no promotion. The Basic + DA column uses today's 60% DA only, so actual pay will be higher after future DA hikes.

UPSSSC PET Salary After the 8th Pay Commission
The Central Government constituted the 8th Pay Commission on 3 November 2025 and gave it 18 months to report. Its recommendations will apply to central employees first, and the Uttar Pradesh government will decide separately when and how to adopt them for state employees.
Revised pay for PET-based posts has not been announced. Figures based on an assumed fitment factor are only projections, not official salaries.
UPSSSC PET Allowances, Benefits and Career Growth

UPSSSC PET Salary FAQs
Q1. What is the UPSSSC PET salary in 2026?
UPSSSC PET is an eligibility exam, so qualifying it does not give a salary. Pay depends on the post secured through a later recruitment. Starting basic pay for common posts ranges from ₹19,900 (Level 2) to ₹29,200 (Level 5).
Q2. What is the UPSSSC PET salary per month?
PET itself has no monthly salary. For PET-based posts, the starting in-hand pay before HRA is about ₹28,656 at Level 2, ₹31,248 at Level 3, ₹36,720 at Level 4 and ₹42,048 at Level 5, at 60% DA after the 10% NPS deduction.
Q3. Does UPSSSC PET have a fixed salary?
No. UPSSSC PET is a qualifying and screening exam, not a government post. Salary is set by the pay level of the post you are selected for, along with its allowances and deductions.
Q4. Which posts can candidates get through UPSSSC PET?
PET-qualified candidates can apply for posts such as Revenue Lekhpal, VDO, Junior Assistant, Forest Guard, Cane Supervisor, Auditor and several technical posts. Each recruitment has its own qualification, age limit and selection process, so PET alone does not guarantee a job.
Q5. What is the UPSSSC PET salary after 5 years?
For a Level 3 post such as Lekhpal, basic pay rises from ₹21,700 at joining to ₹25,200 after five annual increments, without promotion. Actual earnings will be higher with DA revisions, allowances and any promotion.
Q6. Will UPSSSC PET-based salaries increase after the 8th Pay Commission?
Revised pay for UP state employees depends on the state government's decision after the 8th Pay Commission reports. No revised figures have been announced, so online estimates should not be treated as official.
Q7. What is the UPSSSC PET exam invigilator duty payment in UP?
Invigilator duty payment is a one-time remuneration for staff on exam duty, not the salary of a PET-based post. The rate is set by the examination authority's payment order for that exam, so check the official remuneration circular for the confirmed amount.
