JAIIB 2026 Performance-Based Pass Classification

The class of pass in the JAIIB 2026 exam is decided based on a candidate’s performance in the first physical attempt.

• Distinction: Candidates who secure 70% or more aggregate marks and score at least 60 marks in each subject in their first attempt are awarded a Distinction.

• First Class: Candidates who obtain 60% or more aggregate marks in their first attempt are awarded First Class.

• Pass Class: All other candidates who successfully clear the exam but do not meet the criteria for Distinction or First Class are placed under the Pass Class category.

JAIIB 2026 Attempt Limit and Credit Validity Details

Candidates are allowed a maximum of five attempts or three years, whichever comes first, to complete the JAIIB examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF).

Every attempt is counted in the total limit, regardless of whether the candidate actually appears for the examination or not.

If a candidate is unable to clear all papers within the prescribed time frame, they must re-enroll for the exam. In such cases, any previously earned credits will not be carried forward.

For candidates who registered under the old syllabus, the remaining number of attempts and the three-year validity period are calculated from the original date of registration. For example, if a candidate has already used three attempts under the old system, only two attempts will remain under the revised structure.
