SSC MTS Previous Year Question Paper PDF: 2025, 2024, 2023 with Solutions
Oct 09 2026
SSC MTS previous year question papers are the most reliable way to see what the Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar exam actually asks. The SSC MTS and Havaldar 2025 cycle is now in its last stage: the CBE was held from 4 to 20 February 2026, the CBE result came out on 3 August 2026, and the PET/PST for Havaldar was held from 24 to 31 August 2026, with the final result awaited. The SSC MTS 2026 notification is expected around October 2026. Since the two-session pattern has stayed the same since the 2022 cycle, papers from the last four cycles are directly useful for 2026 preparation.

SSC MTS Previous Year Question Paper
The SSC MTS previous year question paper is the set of questions asked in an earlier MTS and Havaldar CBE, organised by exam date and shift. Each paper has two sessions: Session 1 with Numerical and Mathematical Ability and Reasoning, and Session 2 with General Awareness and English. Solving them shows you the real level of the exam, which topics come up again and again, and how long you actually take per question. Here is a quick view of the last four cycles.
|
Exam Cycle |
CBE Dates |
Pattern Followed |
|
SSC MTS 2025 |
4 to 20 February 2026 |
Two sessions, 90 questions, 270 marks |
|
SSC MTS 2024 |
30 September to 14 November 2024 |
Two sessions, 90 questions, 270 marks |
|
SSC MTS 2023 |
1 to 14 September 2023 |
Two sessions, 90 questions, 270 marks |
|
SSC MTS 2022 |
2 to 19 May and 13 to 20 June 2023 |
Two sessions, 90 questions, 270 marks (first cycle on this pattern) |
Note that each cycle is named after its notification year, not the year the exam was held. For example, the SSC MTS 2022 exam was held in 2023, and the SSC MTS 2025 exam was held in 2026.

SSC MTS Previous Year Question Paper PDF Download
You can download SSC MTS previous year question papers as PDFs and practise them offline. Before you start, check the cycle, exam date, shift and language of the paper. Attempt each session in 45 minutes, then check your answers. Papers from all four recent cycles, in English and Hindi, are available.
SSC MTS Previous Year Question Paper with Solutions
A previous year paper is only half useful without solutions. In Maths, the solution shows the shortest method. In Reasoning, it shows the logic behind the pattern. In English and General Awareness, it confirms the right answer and the rule or fact behind it. After each paper, compare your answers with the solutions, mark every wrong or skipped question, and practise similar questions on that topic.
SSC also releases a tentative answer key with each candidate's response sheet after every CBE. For the 2025 cycle, the answer key was released on 3 March 2026, and objections were accepted until 6 March 2026.

SSC MTS Previous Year Question Paper 2025
The SSC MTS 2025 question papers are the most recent and closest to what you will face in 2026. The CBE was held from 4 to 20 February 2026 for 7,948 MTS and Havaldar vacancies. These papers show the current difficulty level and the latest current affairs pattern in General Awareness, so solve them first. Use them as full mock tests: Session 1 and Session 2 back to back, 45 minutes each.
SSC MTS Previous Year Question Paper 2024
The SSC MTS 2024 exam was held over a long window, from 30 September to 14 November 2024, so there are many shift-wise papers to practise. Use them for topic-wise practice after the 2025 papers. Pay attention to repeated calculation errors in Maths, unfamiliar Reasoning types, and General Awareness questions that need more revision.
SSC MTS Previous Year Question Paper 2023
The SSC MTS 2023 exam was held from 1 to 14 September 2023 on the same two-session pattern. These papers are good for extra practice in arithmetic, logical reasoning, grammar, vocabulary and static GK. Skip the current affairs questions from 2023, since those events will not be asked again in 2026.
SSC MTS Previous Year Question Paper 2022
The SSC MTS 2022 exam, held in May and June 2023, was the first cycle on the current pattern of two 45-minute sessions with no descriptive paper. That makes it the oldest set of papers that matches the 2026 pattern exactly. Papers from cycles before 2022 followed a different structure, so use them only for topic practice, not for timing or score comparison.
SSC MTS Previous Year Question Paper in Hindi
SSC MTS question papers are available in Hindi as well as English. The exam itself is held in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages for Session 1 (Maths and Reasoning) and the General Awareness section of Session 2. The English Language and Comprehension section is in English only, so practise it in English even if you take the rest of the exam in Hindi.

SSC MTS Shift-Wise Previous Year Question Papers
SSC MTS is held in many shifts over two to six weeks, and each shift gets a different question paper. That is why papers are organised by date and shift. Solving papers from different shifts gives you a wider range of questions than any single paper. Don't read too much into one shift being easy or hard: SSC normalises scores across shifts, and the next exam's level can be different.

- Start with 2 or 3 papers from the 2025 cycle as a diagnostic test, before you finish the syllabus.
- Do subject-wise PYQs on your weak topics as you study them.
- In the last 6–8 weeks, solve 2 or 3 full papers a week across the 2025, 2024 and 2023 cycles.
- Aim for 20–25 full papers in total, and analyse each one before the next.

Benefits of Solving SSC MTS Previous Year Papers
Solving previous year papers helps you understand the exam and check where you stand. The main benefits are:
- Real exam level: you see the actual difficulty, not a guess from a book.
- Repeated topics: you find which topics and question types come up again and again.
- Time management: timed practice shows how to split 45 minutes between two subjects in each session.
- Negative marking strategy: you learn to attempt everything in Session 1 and to be selective in Session 2.
- Score check: comparing your score with past cut-offs shows how far you are from a safe score.
- Fewer repeated mistakes: reviewing each paper shows your common errors in calculation, grammar or facts.
