The first and foremost step to apply for the exam is to fill the application form. There are two steps involved in this process as Online Registration and Online Application Process. Life Insurance Corporation of India offers lucrative salary packages along with several perks to the employees which enable a huge number of candidates to apply for the exam every year. In comparison with other govt jobs, the LIC Assistant salary is much higher. The basic pay of a LIC Assistant (Clerk) is Rs. 14435/- per month in the scale of Rs.14435-840(1) – 15275-915(2) – 17105 – 1030(5) – 22255-1195 (2) – 24645 – 1455(3) – 29010 – 1510(2) – 32030 – 1610(5) – 40080 and other perks and allowances will be included. The gross salary of a LIC Assistant is approximately Rs 30,000/- per month.
The selection process will be conducted in three stages which are the Preliminary, Mains exam, and Language Proficiency Test.
All the candidates who have successfully submitted the application form will be called to appear for the Preliminary Exam. Then, the candidates who qualify in the prelims exam will be called to appear for the mains exam. The candidates must note that the preliminary exam will be only qualifying in nature and the marks secured in the Preliminary Exam will not be counted in the preparation of the final merit list.
The candidates who have qualified in the Preliminary Exam will be called to appear for the Main Exam. The candidates who have qualified in the Mains Exam will be called to appear for the Language Proficiency Test. The candidates will be assessed based on their knowledge of the official language of the State/UT under which the applicants have applied. Candidates will have to clear this round to be eligible for the final appointment.
