The first and foremost step to applying for the exam is to fill out the application form. There are two steps involved in this process – Online Registration and Online Application Process. Life Insurance Corporation of India offers lucrative salary packages along with several perks to the employees which enable a huge number of candidates to apply for the exam every year. In comparison with other govt jobs, the LIC Assistant salary is much higher. The basic pay of a LIC Assistant (Clerk) is Rs. 14435/- per month in the scale of Rs.14435-840(1) – 15275-915(2) – 17105 – 1030(5) – 22255-1195 (2) – 24645 – 1455(3) – 29010 – 1510(2) – 32030 – 1610(5) – 40080 and other perks and allowances will be included. The gross salary of a LIC Assistant is approximately Rs 30,000/- per month.
The selection process will be conducted in three stages
The candidates who have qualified in the Preliminary Exam will be called to appear for the Main Exam. The candidates who have qualified in the Mains Exam will be called to appear for the Language Proficiency Test. The candidates will be assessed based on their knowledge of the official language of the State/UT under which the applicants have applied. Candidates will have to clear this round to be eligible for the final appointment.

The Prelims exam is conducted online and contains objective or multiple-choice questions. The medium of the question paper will be both in English and Hindi Language.
