- South Korea has passed a bill that bans the use of mobile phones and smart devices during class hours in schools, with the law set to take effect in March 2026.

- Private sector capital investment is projected to rise by 21.5% to ₹2.67 lakh crore in 2025–26, up from ₹2.20 lakh crore in 2024–25 (RBI bulletin).
- The Ministry of Finance has issued a notification under the Indian Insurance Companies (Foreign Investment) Amendment Rules, 2025, which allows for 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the insurance sector, replacing the previous 74% cap.
- Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra announced that India is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy, citing strong economic momentum.
- India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) celebrated its 8th Foundation Day (IPPB Day), highlighting its role in inclusive, accessible, and affordable banking at the last mile.
- India’s Current Account Balance slipped into a deficit of $2.4 billion (0.2% of GDP) in Q1 FY26, a reversal from the surplus of $13.5 billion (1.3% of GDP) in Q4 FY25.

- Air Marshal Sanjiv Ghuratia AVSM VSM assumed charge as Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance (AOM) at Indian Air Force (IAF) Headquarters on September 1, 2025.
- OpenAI has appointed Raghav Gupta as Head of Education Vertical for the India and Asia-Pacific region.
- Rajit Punhani has taken charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

- The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of a 24.99% stake and voting rights of YES Bank by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC).
- Rakesh Gangwal, a promoter of InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), and his family trust have divested a 3.1% stake in IndiGo through block deals valued at ₹7,027.7 crore.
- E-commerce firm Amazon has completed the acquisition of non-banking financial services firm axio (formerly Capital Float) after receiving approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
