• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has proposed amendments to the External Commercial Borrowing (ECB) regulations as part of the Statement on Developmental and Regulatory Policies (October 01, 2025).
• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has proposed to rationalise norms for the establishment of branches or offices in India by entities resident outside India (EROI).
• India’s wholesale price index (WPI)-based inflation eased to 0.13% in September 2025 (YoY), down from 0.52% in August, as per data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a ‘Scheme for Facilitating Accelerated Payout – Inoperative Accounts and Unclaimed Deposits’ to encourage activation of inoperative accounts and return of unclaimed deposits.
• Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched a nationwide awareness campaign in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, in the presence of State Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai and senior officials from RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, PFRDA, and DFS.
• India’s retail inflation fell sharply to an eight-year low of 1.54% in September 2025, down from 2.07% in August 2025, according to the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

• The World Bank has raised India’s GDP growth forecast to 6.5% for FY26, up from 6.3% projected in June 2025, citing resilient domestic demand, rural recovery, and the impact of GST reforms.
• The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised India’s Gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast for 2025–26 to 6.6% from 4% earlier, despite US punitive tariffs on Indian exports.
• The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has simplified its withdrawal rules, allowing members to withdraw up to 100% of their EPF balance, including both employee and employer contributions.

• Swiggy has partnered with PayU Finance, the NBFC arm of PayU, to offer credit solutions to its restaurant partners starting from the next financial year.
• Unclaimed money in mutual funds increased 21%, from ₹2,862 crore (2023–24) to ₹3,452 crore (2024–25), mainly due to unclaimed dividends (up 26.5%) and redemptions (up 10.1%).
• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) directed Bengaluru-based BNPL firm Simpl to immediately cease its payment operations for running a payment system without RBI approval under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007.

• The Government of India has amended the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008 to encourage digital payments and reduce cash transactions at user fee plazas on National Highways for Non-FASTag users.

• Armenia has become the newest State Member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) during the 2025 World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi, marking a major step in its global environmental engagement.

• Indian Naval Ship (INS) Sahyadri made a port call at Busan Naval Harbour, South Korea, on 13th October 2025 to participate in the inaugural Indian Navy–Republic of Korea Navy (IN–RoKN) Bilateral Exercise.
• The Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) indigenously developed Military Combat Parachute System (MCPS) successfully completed a combat freefall jump from 32,000 feet, conducted by Indian Air Force test jumpers.

• Indian space-tech startup GalaxEye announced it will launch Mission Drishti, the world’s first multi-sensor Earth Observation (EO) satellite, in the first quarter of 2026.
• Elon Musk’s SpaceX successfully launched its 11th Starship rocket from Texas, marking the final test flight of the current version before the company begins testing an upgraded Starship for Moon and Mars missions.
