  • Air Vice Marshal Shakti Sharma created history by becoming the first woman officer from the non-medical stream in the Indian Defence Forces to attain the rank of Air Vice Marshal, or an equivalent two-star rank.

  • The Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, signed a five-year agreement with the Centre for Development of Telematics to establish a state-of-the-art End-to-End Optical Network Test Bed.
  • The Central Industrial Security Force and the Drone Federation of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Central Industrial Security Force Headquarters to strengthen counter-drone capabilities.
  • Bihar and Jharkhand signed a Memorandum of Understanding for sharing the waters of the Sone River in the presence of Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah.
  • A tripartite agreement was signed among the Sports Authority of India, Badminton Association of India and Sports Authority of Assam for establishing a National Centre of Excellence for Swimming in Assam.

  • Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on biofuels, biomass utilisation, waste-to-resource solutions and circular economy initiatives.

  • State Bank of India (SBI) and its subsidiary SBI Capital Markets Ltd (SBICAP) plan to dilute up to 1% stake in the National Stock Exchange (NSE) through its proposed ₹30,000-crore IPO.
  • ICICI Bank Limited acquired an additional 2% stake in its life insurance venture, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited, for approximately ₹1,470 crore through the stock exchange mechanism.

  • Scientists from multiple institutions, including the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) and Thackeray Wildlife Foundation, reported a new subterranean fish species named Gangaichthys indonepalicus.
  • Dehing Patkai National Park, located in Assam, recorded 165 butterfly species, including 37 endangered species, during a 2026 biodiversity survey.

  • China reportedly tested a new variant of the YJ-18A anti-ship cruise missile, featuring a black radar-absorbing coating designed to improve its radar evasion and penetration capabilities.
