Meesho to rename Indian parent company as Meesho Private Limited

  • Meesho’s board has approved the renaming of its Indian entity from Fashnear Technologies to Meesho Pvt Ltd.
  • The company has applied for approval from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to formalise the name change.
  • Meesho has also filed an application with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) as part of its redomiciling process.
  • Once completed, Meesho Pvt Ltd will become the parent company for its marketplace operations.
  • Meesho stated the name change would align corporate identity with its brand, improving brand recall, stakeholder confidence, and business positioning.

IndusInd Bank's deputy Chief Executive Officer Arun Khurana quits

  • This marks the second high-profile exit from the bank in 2025, after Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Govind Jain resigned in January 2025, months before the lapses were disclosed.
  • After Jain’s resignation, Arun Khurana was assigned additional responsibility as CFO with effect from January 21, 2025.
  • Earlier this month, the bank appointed Santosh Kumar as Deputy CFO, effective from April 18, 2025.

  • Noted filmmaker and cinematographer Shaji N. Karun passed away in Thiruvananthapuram at the age of 73 after battling cancer.
  • He was a graduate in Cinematography from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).
  • He played a crucial role in bringing Malayalam films to national and international recognition.
  • His directorial debut Piravi (1989) earned the Camera d’Or – Mention d’honneur at the Cannes Film Festival.
  • Piravi was screened at over 70 international film festivals and won 31 awards.
  • His films Swam (1994) and Vanaprastham (1999) were selected for the Cannes official section.
  • Swam was nominated for the Palm d’Or at Cannes.

  • He received the National Film Award for Best Director for Piravi.
  • He won three National Awards for Best Feature Film and multiple Kerala State Film Awards.
