- Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Mr. ZheenbekKulubaevMoldokanovich signed and exchanged the Instrument of Ratification of the India-Kyrgyz BIT in New Delhi.
- The Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) was originally signed on 14th June 2019 in Bishkek and entered into force on 5th June 2025.
- This new BIT replaces the earlier agreement that came into effect on 12th May 2000, ensuring continuity in investment protection between India and Kyrgyz Republic.

- Emphasis on sustainable development in the preamble.
- Removal of the Most Favoured Nation (MFN)
- A calibrated Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) mechanism requiring mandatory exhaustion of local remedies before international arbitration.

Flipkart obtains Reserve Bank of India approval to lend directly with Non-Banking Financial Company licence
- E-commerce major Flipkart has received a lending licence from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) — the Indian central bank and banking regulator.
- Currently, e-commerce platforms offer loans only via tie-ups with banks and Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), but this licence allows Flipkart to lend directly to its users and sellers.
- The Walmart-owned company will provide lending services through its platform and fintech app, Super Money.
- This marks the first time the RBI has granted an NBFC licence to an e-commerce company for direct lending.
- Flipkart currently offers personal loans through tie-ups with Axis Bank, IDFC Bank, and Credit Saison.

Securities and Exchange Board of India releases operational guidelines for issuance of Environment, Social and Governance debt securities
- Market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has released an operational framework for the issuance of social bonds, sustainability bonds, and sustainability-linked bonds, collectively called Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) debt securities.
- The framework aims to help issuers raise funds for sustainable projects and bridge the funding gap for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Debt securities will be labelled as social bonds, sustainability bonds, or sustainability-linked bonds only if the raised funds are used for financing or refinancing projects aligned with their objectives.
Key Highlights :
- Initial disclosures must be made in the offer document; continuous disclosures must be included in annual reports or other mandated formats.
- Issuers of social bonds must disclose:
- Social objectives of the project.
- Details of the decision-making process for project eligibility.
- Procedures for tracking deployment of proceeds.
- An indicative estimate of fund distribution between financing and refinancing.
- In case of refinancing, details of the existing debt, including amount outstanding, must be disclosed.
- Issuers must appoint an independent third-party reviewer or certifier to ensure compliance with recognized ESG standards.
- Issuers of sustainability bonds must comply with provisions specified for green debt securities.
- Issuers must ensure all funded projects meet the stated social or sustainability objectives and use proceeds only for the disclosed purpose.

- The classification of debt securities depends on the issuer’s primary objectives for the projects.

Reserve Bank of India imposes monetary fines on three financial institutions for regulatory violations
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed monetary penalties on three financial institutions for non-compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Violations include:Unauthorized acceptance of public deposits, Lapses in Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, Breach of supervisory norms
PayMe India Financial Services Pvt Ltd was fined ₹2 lakh for:
- Breaching conditions of its Certificate of Registration (CoR) under Section 45IA(5) of the RBI Act, 1934.
- Accepting public deposits, which is prohibited under its registration terms.
- Failing to get prior RBI approval for a change in shareholding exceeding 26% of its paid-up equity capital.
Ratanchand Shah Sahakari Bank Ltd, Mangalwedha, Maharashtra, was fined ₹2 lakh for:
- Violations related to KYC compliance and supervisory norms under the Supervisory Action Framework (SAF).
- Offering interest rates on deposits higher than allowed under SAF guidelines.
- Breaching single borrower exposure limits.
- Issuing multiple Customer Identification Codes (CICs) instead of a Unique Customer Identification Code (UCIC).
Poornawadi Nagarik Sahakari Bank Maryadit, Beed, Maharashtra, was penalized ₹1 lakh for:

Reserve Bank of India Governor Sanjay Malhotra-led Monetary Policy Committee cuts policy repo rate by 50 bps to 5.50% effective June 6, 2025
- The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), chaired by RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra, on June 6, 2025, voted to reduce the policy repo rate by 50 basis points (bps) to 5.50% with immediate effect.
Corresponding adjustments:
- Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) rate under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) adjusted to 5.25%.
- Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) rate and the Bank Rate adjusted to 5.75%.
- The rate cut aims to balance the medium-term target of Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation of 4% ± 2% while supporting economic growth.
Key Highlights :
- The MPC changed its stance from accommodative to neutral, noting that there is limited space left for further monetary policy easing after a cumulative 100 bps cut since February 2025.
- The MPC will carefully assess incoming data and the evolving macroeconomic outlook, including the global economic situation, to decide future policy moves.
- Real GDP growth projection for FY26 is 6.5%, broken down quarterly as:

- RBI is committed to stimulate domestic private consumption and investment to support growth.
- To provide durable liquidity, the RBI decided to reduce the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) by 100 bps to 3.0% of Net Demand and Time Liabilities (NDTL), to be implemented in four equal tranches starting September 6, 2025.
- The CRR cut will release approximately ₹2.5 lakh crore of primary liquidity by December 2025, reducing bank funding costs and aiding monetary policy transmission.
- RBI will continue to monitor liquidity and financial market conditions and take further action if needed.

- 25.18% equity stake in Future Generali India Life Insurance Company Ltd (FGILICL) — Life Insurance
- The acquisition was done under the IBBI (Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India) Regulations, 2016, specifically under the Insolvency Resolution Process for Corporate Persons.
Cost of acquisition:
- Up to ₹451 crore for FGIICL (general insurance company)
- Up to ₹57 crore for FGILICL (life insurance company)
- CBoI joins other public sector banks having insurance ventures, including:State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, Bank of India

India to Manufacture Rafale Fighter Jet Fuselage for the First Time
- The main body (fuselage) of future Rafale fighter jets will be produced in India for the first time, outside France.
- Dassault Aviation (French aircraft maker) and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) have partnered to build the Rafale fuselage at a new facility in Hyderabad.
- This move supports the Make-in-India initiative in the defence sector.
- The Hyderabad facility will supply fuselages for India and other international markets.
Key Highlights :
- From 2023 onwards, the Indian Navy will receive 26 Rafale Marine fighter jets with locally produced fuselage sections.
- The partnership involves transfer of technology and transfer agreements to manufacture several aerostructure assemblies.
- The project will create 1,000 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect jobs, including training and upskilling of personnel.
