SBI Clerk Educational Qualification

Here are the SBI Clerk Educational Qualification details:

• Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government.
• Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before the date mentioned in the notification.
• Those who are in the final year/ semester of their graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if provisionally selected, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before the date mentioned in the notification.

Local Language Proficiency

• Candidates can apply for vacancies in one State/UT only. Candidates can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project.
• The candidates applying for vacancies of a particular State/UT, should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in the specified opted local language of that State/UT.

The test for knowledge of specified opted local language will be conducted as a part of selection process. It will be conducted after qualifying the online Main examination but before joining the Bank. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be offered appointment. Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test.

Credit History

Candidates who have defaulted in repayment under any lending arrangement with Banks or NBFCs, including credit card dues and have not regularized / repaid their outstanding thereunder till the date of issuance of letter of offer of appointment by the Bank, shall not be eligible for appointment to the post.

However, candidates who have regularized / repaid such outstanding on or before the date of issuance of offer of appointment but whose CIBIL status has not been updated till then, shall, on or before the date of joining, have to either get the CIBIL status updated or produce the NOCs from the lender to the effect that there is no outstanding with respect to the accounts adversely reflected in the CIBIL, failing which the letter of offer shall be withdrawn/ cancelled.

Other Criteria

• Candidates who are working in SBI in the Clerical cadre are not eligible to apply under this project.
• Candidates who were earlier employed in State Bank of India and resigned from the Bank while in clerical cadre will also be not eligible to apply for the post.
• Candidates against whom there is/ are adverse report regarding character & antecedents, moral turpitude etc. are not eligible to apply for the post.
