Nationality / Citizenship
Check the nationality / citizenship criteria here. To apply for the CSA / Clerk post, a candidate must be any of the following nationality:
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

IBPS Clerk Educational Qualification
Here are the IBPS Clerk Educational Qualification details:
- A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
- The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.
- Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have a Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.
- Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT - The candidates applying for vacancies of a particular State/UT, should be proficient in (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) the specified/opted local language of that State/UT.
NOTE - Candidates who produce 10th standard or above mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the specified/ opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test. The test will be conducted after qualifying the Online Main examination/ Provisional Allotment but before joining the Bank. The test for knowledge of specified/ opted local language will be conducted as a part of the selection process by an independent body or by the Bank and will be marks-based and qualifying in nature. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be offered appointment and will be disqualified from the process.
Credit History
Credit history is a crucial component of the IBPS Clerk eligibility requirements.
- The candidate applying shall ensure that they maintain a healthy Credit history at the time of joining of participating banks. The minimum credit score will be as per the policy of participating banks.
- Those candidates whose CIBIL status has not been updated before the date of joining, have to either get the CIBIL status updated or produce the NOCs from lender to the effect that there is no outstanding with respect to the accounts adversely reflected in the CIBIL, failing which the letter of offer may be withdrawn / cancelled. The final discretion in this regard remains with the allotted Bank.
NOTE - Candidates with no bank account shall not be required to produce the CIBIL status. CIBIL Score requirement is not a pre-condition to apply.
