In a major boost to India’s self-reliance in space technology, Indian scientists and engineers have successfully developed the world’s largest 10-tonne Vertical Planetary Mixer for processing solid propellants, a critical component in rocket motor production.

The mixer was designed and developed by Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR (SDSC SHAR), ISRO, in collaboration with Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI), Bangalore, a premier research and development organisation under the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
