Keel-Laying Ceremony for Second Fleet Support Ship (FSS) – Strengthening India's Maritime Capabilities

  • The keel-laying ceremony for the second Fleet Support Ship (FSS) was held at L&T Shipyard, Kattupalli, Tamilnadu.
  • This marks a significant step in India's naval expansion under a contract signed in August 2023 between the Indian Navy and Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) for the construction of five Fleet Support Ships (FSS).
  • Deliveries are set to begin by mid-2027, with two of these ships being built by L&T Shipyard to enhance India's shipbuilding capabilities.
