- Till date, 18 such meetings have been conducted, reviewing a total of 360 grievances, with the objective of assessing grievance redressal efficiency through a ‘dip-stick survey’ at the highest level.
- These meetings aim to ensure that citizens’ grievances are heard at the senior-most level, helping resolve long-pending dues and claims efficiently.
- A case of non-payment of PMSBY claim was resolved with ₹2,00,000 credited to the beneficiary’s account at Punjab National Bank (30.06.2025).
- A complaint regarding non-payment of superannuation funds by LIC was settled with ₹9,65,000 credited to the nominee (30.06.2025).

- Developed at a cost of ₹11,200 crore, the airport is one of India’s largest greenfield airport projects.

Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026 introduced in Lok Sabha by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry
- The Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada, introduced the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026 in the Lok Sabha after receiving approval from the Union Cabinet.
- The Bill represents a significant step toward improving Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living, while promoting a governance model based on trust and proportionate regulation.
- It proposes amendments to 784 provisions across 79 Central Acts, administered by 23 Ministries.
- Out of these, 717 provisions will be decriminalized to support business activities, while 67 provisions will be amended to enhance ease of living.
- Overall, the Bill aims to rationalize more than 1,000 offences by removing outdated and redundant provisions, thereby improving the regulatory environment.

- A key feature of the Bill is the shift from criminal penalties to civil and administrative mechanisms for minor, technical, or procedural defaults.
- This includes replacing imprisonment with monetary penalties or warnings, introducing graded enforcement with warnings for first-time violations, and rationalizing fines based on the severity of the offence.
- To ensure efficient enforcement, the Bill provides for the appointment of Adjudicating Officers and the establishment of Appellate Authorities, enabling faster case resolution and reducing the burden on courts while maintaining principles of natural justice.
- The Bill also proposes 67 amendments under the New Delhi Municipal Council Act, 1994 and the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, focusing on simplifying procedures and improving citizen convenience in areas such as municipal taxation and vehicle compliance.
- The reforms are based on an extensive consultative process involving inter-ministerial discussions, high-level meetings under NITI Aayog, and interactions with industry bodies and civil society.
- Additionally, the Select Committee on the 2025 Bill, chaired by Tejasvi Surya, conducted 49 sittings and submitted its report on 13 March 2026.
- The Committee recommended further decriminalization across additional Central Acts.

Government Directs Over ₹1.77 Lakh Crore Toward Fertilizer Subsidies in 2024-25
- The Department of Fertilizers highlighted the successful implementation of the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, along with the Government’s continued financial commitment to keeping agricultural inputs affordable for farmers.
- In the financial year 2024–25, the Government allocated and utilized ₹1,77,129.50 crore for fertilizer subsidies.
- This ensured that fertilizers were available to farmers at subsidized rates without any denial.
- The subsidy expenditure shows a declining trend from ₹1,95,420.51 crore in 2023–24 and ₹2,54,798.93 crore in 2022–23, indicating a strategic rationalization while maintaining supply security.
Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) Scheme:
- The Government continues to promote balanced fertilization through the Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) Scheme.
- Under this scheme, subsidies are provided based on the nutrient content of fertilizers, such as Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), and Sulphur (S).

Nano Urea Production and Sales:
The Government is also promoting Nano Urea as an innovative fertilizer. State-wise data indicates:
- Production is concentrated in a few states such as Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka.
- Sales have expanded across multiple states, showing gradual adoption by farmers.
- Total sales reached 201.14 lakh bottles (till February 2026), reflecting increasing acceptance.
DBT and Transparency Measures
The sale of subsidized fertilizers is carried out through Aadhaar-based authentication using Point of Sale (PoS) devices at retail outlets.

- A monthly purchase limit of 50 bags per farmer is fixed

Government Notifies TV Rating Policy (TRP) 2026 to Strengthen Transparency, Accountability and Credibility of Television Audience Measurement in India
- The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting released the TV Ratings Policy 2026, introducing comprehensive guidelines to regulate television audience measurement in India.
- The policy establishes clear standards for the registration, functioning, audit, and oversight of TV rating agencies, with the objective of ensuring transparency, independence, and accountability.
Key Highlights:
- Ease of Entry Norms
The minimum net worth requirement for registering as a TV rating agency has been reduced from ₹20 crore to ₹5 crore, making it easier for new players to enter the market. - Anti-Conflict Measures
To ensure neutrality, at least 50% of the Board of Directors must be independent directors with no links to broadcasters, advertisers, or advertising agencies.
Additionally, rating agencies are prohibited from undertaking consultancy roles that may create conflicts of interest. - Enhanced Sample Size and Data Representation
Agencies must expand their measurement system to cover:
- 80,000 metered homes within 18 months (6 months for existing agencies)
- Eventually, 1,20,000 homes
The measurement system must be technology-neutral, covering data from Cable TV, DTH, OTT platforms, and Connected TVs. Data must be collected from all TV screens within selected households.
- Transparency and Privacy
Agencies are required to publish their methodology and anonymized data on their websites.
They must also comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 to ensure the protection of viewer data and privacy. - Accountability and Audit Mechanism
A dual-audit system has been introduced:
- Quarterly internal audits
- Annual independent external audits
Additionally, the Ministry will establish an Audit and Oversight Team for regular inspections.

Reserve Bank of India Approves Avenir Investment’s Acquisition of Controlling Stake in Sammaan Capital
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved Avenir Investment RSC Limited’s acquisition of a controlling stake in Sammaan Capital Limited (formerly Indiabulls Housing Finance Limited).
- The approval also includes Sammaan Finserve Limited (formerly Indiabulls Commercial Credit Limited), covering the indirect change in control of the subsidiary arising from the transaction.
- The RBI has waived the mandatory public notice requirement, facilitating a faster execution of the deal.
- Avenir Investment RSC Ltd, owned by International Holding Company PJSC (Abu Dhabi), will invest approximately ₹8,850 crore through a preferential allotment of shares.
- Post-investment, Avenir will hold around 41.23% stake in Sammaan Capital, strengthening its ownership and control position.
- If the open offer is fully subscribed, Avenir’s stake could increase to approximately 63.36%, giving it a majority controlling interest.

Ministry of Defence Signs ₹858 Crore Deals for Tunguska Air Defence Missile System and P-8I Aircraft Depot-Level Inspection
- The Ministry of Defence (MoD) signed two contracts worth ₹858 crore in New Delhi, aimed at strengthening India’s defence capabilities and maintenance infrastructure.
- A contract worth ₹445 crore was signed with JSC Rosoboronexport, Russia for the procurement of the Tunguska Air Defence Missile System for the Indian Army in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh.
- The Tunguska Air Defence Missile System will enhance India’s multi-layered air defence capabilities, providing protection against aerial threats such as aircraft, drones, and cruise missiles.
- The agreement will further strengthen the Indo-Russian strategic defence partnership, highlighting continued defence cooperation between India and Russia.
- Another contract worth ₹413 crore was signed with Boeing India Defense Private Ltd for the Inspection (Depot Level) of P-8I Long-Range Maritime Reconnaissance Aircraft of the Indian Navy.
- This contract falls under the ‘Buy Indian’ category with 100% indigenous content, promoting self-reliance in defence maintenance and operations.
- The agreement will enable Depot-level maintenance of the P-8I fleet within India at an in-country MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility, reducing dependence on foreign support.
