RBI Assistant Book 2023 PDF: Selection Process

The selection process for the RBI assistant exam 2023 involves three stages the exam namely preliminary, mains, and Language Proficiency Test. The candidates who are qualified in the preliminary exam are allowed to attend the main examination. The one who passes the main exam has their Language Proficiency Test and finally, the candidates are recruited for the posts. Only a few candidates will be called for the Language Proficiency exam. The selection process involves

• Preliminary exam: The prelims exam is the screening exam. This is qualifying in nature. The exam consists of 100 questions of 100 marks. The Preliminary Examination consists of three sections- English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
• Mains Exam: The candidates who qualify for the preliminary exam are going to appear for the mains exam. There were be 5 sections namely English, Quantitative, Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, and General Awareness. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
• Language Proficiency Test: The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned. Candidates not proficient in the Official / Local Language shall be disqualified from the selection process.

Preliminary Exam 

• There will be 100 questions from 3 sections; English language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability
• The time duration of the RBI Assistant Prelims Exam is 60 minutes (each section for 20 minutes).
• There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer, no deduction for unanswered questions.
• The questions will be of Objective type
• Except for English Language, other sections will be in English and Hindi.
• The marks of the Prelims Exam will not be counted in the merit list, as the Prelims exam is qualifying in nature.

Mains Exam Pattern 

• There will be 200 questions from 5 sections; English language, Quantitative Aptitude, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, and Reasoning Ability
• The time duration of the RBI Assistant Mains Exam is 135 minutes. Section-wise timing has been mentioned below.
• There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer, no deduction for unanswered questions.
• The questions will be of Objective type
• Except for English Language, other sections will be in English and Hindi language.
• Candidates qualifying Mains Exam will be called for Language Proficiency Test and marks will be counted in preparing the merit list.
