  • Delcy Eloína Rodríguez Gómez, Acting President of Venezuela, paid a 5-day working visit to India from 3–7 June 2026 with a primary focus on strengthening India–Venezuela energy cooperation.

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a monetary penalty of ₹41.80 lakh on Canara Bank on 5 June 2026.
  • Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), the statutory regulator under the Ministry of Finance (MoF), launched the ‘StAR NPS’ platform to simplify and streamline the National Pension System (NPS) subscriber registration process.
  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducted the 61st and 2nd Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) Meeting of Financial Year 2026-27 (FY27) from 3–5 June 2026.
  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) plans to expand Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) pilot projects in FY27 by introducing new Domestic and Cross-Border Use Cases.
  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has proposed a one-hour cooling-off period for digital transactions exceeding ₹10,000 to reduce online payment frauds.
  • The volume of ₹500 denomination banknotes in circulation increased by 11.2% during FY26, rising from 6,34,458 lakh pieces in FY25 to 7,05,482 lakh pieces.
  • Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman met Suvendu Adhikari in New Delhi to discuss measures for accelerating West Bengal’s development in line with the vision of Narendra Modi.

  • The Central Government has re-appointed Shri Swaminathan Janakiraman as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a period of two years.
  • The President of India appointed Six Additional Judges of the Bombay High Court as Permanent Judges under the provisions of the Constitution of India.
  • Kumar Shanker was appointed as the Managing Director (MD) of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) with effect from 5 June 2026.
  • Banwarilal Purohit was unanimously elected President of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on 7 June 2026 during a joint meeting of the Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees.
  • South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has nominated Han Seong-sook as the country’s next Prime Minister (PM), following reports that incumbent PM Kim Min-seok is stepping down from the position.
  • The Government of India (GoI) has appointed Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth as the Next Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) with effect from the afternoon of 30 June 2026.
  • The Central Government has nominated Sanjay Lohiya as a Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), with effect from 11 June 2026.

  • The Himachal Pradesh Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to promote climate-resilient, inclusive, and sustainable development across the state.
  • Air India and Riyadh Air signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing connectivity between India, Saudi Arabia, and other global destinations.
  • The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS) and the Government of Sikkim signed a reform-linked Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen rural water supply infrastructure under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 (JJM 2.0).
  • Roppen Transportation Services Private Limited, operating under the brand name Rapido has partnered with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) to promote nationwide awareness and citizen participation in the Government of India’s Rahveer Scheme.

  • CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Government of Haryana for implementing the project titled “Implementation of the Standard Framework for Paving and Greening of Urban Roads (Haryana State)”.
  • The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) under the Ministry of Science & Technology (MoS&T) observed Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 from 1 May to 15 May 2026.
  • The Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, has extended support to TIEA Connectors Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru for the project titled “Commercialization of Airborne Connectors for Aerospace, Defense & Charging Connectors for EV.”
  • The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) officially ended the MAVEN mission after losing contact with the spacecraft on 6 December 2025, and concluded after nearly six months of radio silence that the orbiter could not be recovered.
  • Scientists in June 2026 studied Uranus’ moon dynamicsring structure, and planetary formation models to examine whether the early Solar System contained additional giant planets that were later ejected into interstellar space.
