RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2024

The candidates can check here the details of Eligibility Criteria i.e. Nationality, age limit, educational qualification. Candidates should fulfill all these norms.

Nationality

As per the RBI Assistant notification 2024 pdf, a candidate must be either:
i. a citizen of India, or
ii. a subject of Nepal, or
iii. a subject of Bhutan, or
iv. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of
permanently settling in India, or
v. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination, but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate is issued to him/her by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification

As per the RBI Assistant notification 2024 pdf, the educational qualification is:

1. At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.

2. A candidate belonging to the Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defense service.

3. Candidates applying for posts in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.

RBI Assistant Recruitment 2024 - Selection Process

According to the RBI Assistant notification 2024, the selection process has three stages i.e. 

• Preliminary exam

• Mains exam

• LPT (Language Proficiency Test)

Prelims: This phase is qualifying in nature. Marks of this phase aren't considered for the final selection.

Mains: Marks obtained in this phase will be considered for the final selection. Hence, just clearing the cut-off is not enough, scoring good marks is essential to ensure your selection.

Language Proficiency Test: The final selection will be based on the performance in the main & language proficiency test. This test will be conducted in the local language of the concerned state. Candidates found inefficient in the local language would be disqualified.

Note:

1. The above online test/s except for the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.

2. Candidates will have to pass each of the objective tests of the online examinations 

3. A candidate has to qualify in the Preliminary Examination for appearing in Main Examination.

4. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests (Preliminary and Main examination), and 1/4th of marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Language Proficiency Test

As per the RBI Assistant notification 2024 pdf, the candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned as detailed below). Candidates not proficient in the Official / Local Language shall be disqualified.

Cut Off

The RBI Assistant cut off marks are the minimum qualifying marks a candidate should get to get qualified for the RBI Assistant exam. State-wise and the category-wise cut-off for the RBI Assistant examination will be released after the results.

Salary

Assistants will draw a starting basic pay of ₹ 20,700/- per month in the scale of ₹ 20700 – 1200 (3) – 24300 – 1440 (4) - 30060 – 1920 (6) – 41580 – 2080 (2) – 45740 – 2370 (3) – 52850 – 2850 (1) – 55700 (20 years).

At present, the initial Monthly Gross Emoluments (without HRA) for Assistant will be approximately ₹47,849/-.

**House Rent Allowance of 15% of Pay will be paid to them, additionally, if they are not staying in Bank’s accommodation.
